Pinheiros Altos Golf Course,designed by Architects, Ronald Fream and Jorge Santana da Silva opened in 1995. Bordering the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve, a habitat for many species of birds, wildlife, flora and fauna, the 72 Par course is well known within the golfing world for both its quality and challenging greens.

Originally an 18-hole course, Pinheiros Altos now offers a combination of 27 holes, composed of three groups of 9: Oliveiras, Pinheiros and Sobreiros, with the second 9 holes presenting the main obstacle for golfers on this course due to the lakes. The original Par 3 signature Island stills awaits repeat visitors to the course.
