Ferragudo is a picturesque fishing village located on a hillside at the mouth of the River Arade.

There is always plenty of activity on the estuary, with boats and yachts travelling to and from the Port and marina of the nearby large town of Portimao and resort Praia da Rocha located on the opposite side of the river.

The smaller fishing boats are moored up in the village harbour and haul in their fresh catch of the day to be served in the local restaurants located along the characterful harbour and in the small village square where you get a real feel of being in the traditional, unspoilt Algarve.
